Airport installations

Fiumicino International Airport is the most important airport in Italyand was inaugurated in two stages, the first in 1956 and the second in 1961. With over 30 million passengers a year, it initially had 3 terminals (TA, TB and TC) but from 2009 a new terminal was built, so it was also decided to renew the names of the previous terminals by merging the old terminals B and C, becoming T1, T2, T3 and T5; it is also a smoke-free airport. It is located 26 kilometers southwest of the center of Rome, offering both local and international flights to the most important points in Europe and the rest of the world. This airport is one of the connection points for the Alitalia airline next to the Milan-Malpensa Airport in Milan. The terminals are connected to each other by an efficient bus service.

Fiumicino airport has a branch of the Banco di Roma, several ATMs, 24-hour currency exchange offices, post offices and telephone booths, as well as a large number of restaurants, cafes and bars distributed among its terminals. You can also find several stores - including duty free ones - a pharmacy, a first aid and vaccination station, a nursery, a chapel, an exclusive smoking room.

On the other hand, we find the Atahotel Executive Center located in Terminal 1, where you can find office services such as fax, photocopiers, temporary offices, internet and waiting rooms before the flight departs.

Rome's airport has several currency exchange offices. These are mostly located in terminal 3.
