Cairo International Airport (مطار القاهرة الدولي in Arabic) is the most important airport in Cairo, the capital of Egypt. It is located in the northeast of the city, almost 15 kilometers away, and is managed by the Cairo Airport Authority (CAA). This is the second busiest airport on the African continent, after Johannesbugo Airport in South Africa.
Approximately 65 airlines transit Cairo Airport, with EgyptAir being the main connecting company. Due to its union with the Star Alliance during the month of July 2008, the airport is considered an important distribution center between Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
In 2006, 11,778,097 passengers travelled through its installations, while in 2008 around 14.36 million passengers travelled through it, which shows that Cairo International Airport is the second largest in Africa in terms of passenger traffic.

Outside the airport terminals is located the cab stand, from here it is convenient to take the service so as not to obtain inconveniences. The price of the trip to the city is 50 Egyptian pounds and it takes between 30 minutes and one hour, according to the traffic.
